CONSTRUCTING FUTURES
Sara Codarin and Karl Daubmann
The Constructing Futures exhibition at Bedrock’s 1001 Woodward Gallery in Downtown Detroit sparks conversations about emerging technologies, connecting experts from cultural institutions, universities, and industries. The exhibit features robots, additive manufacturing machines, and their innovative creations, offering an immersive exploration of technological advancements.
Occupying such a large space with minimal construction, the exhibition creates a dynamic, kinetic experience. A series of lectures and workshops, organized by universities, businesses, and cultural partners, enriches the dialogue. At its center is a digitally fabricated installation showcasing AI-generated images, selected through an international call for submissions. Designers, creators, and AI artists presented visionary concepts, exploring sustainable, inclusive, and technology-driven futures for design and construction, fostering collaboration and forward-thinking ideas.
